The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kumerica, David Germain Portfolio, has stated that, artistes who are unable to win nominated awards are always discouraged.
In an Interview on Kumasefie with Mr. Black on Saturday, August 22, 2021, he explained why majority of artiste are discouraged, restless and so broken hearted that it becomes difficult for them to continue with their music career.
According to him, the Ghanaian music industry was rescued by the Kumerica Movement.
He pointed out that Asakaa Boys, Yaw Tog and others took Ghanaian Music far.
“Every competent award will never ignore the contribution of these boys”, he said.
Portfolio explained that Asakaa boys being categorized as underground artistes is a total cheat and disrespect hence their reason for pulling out of the awards Scheme.
He stated that Asakaa Boys are not concerned with awards because the best award is the feedback one gets from the fans.
“Asakaa boys as a group operate independently. Everyone is having an individual brand”, he said
