Nana Yaw Amponsah Reveals His Painful Moment At Kotoko

Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has revealed that his painful moment since joining Kotoko is the results the club chalked against Medeama SC in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Ghanaian giants suffered their first defeat in the second round of the 2020/21 season against Tarkwa-based club Medeama SC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium to miss a chance of extending their lead on the League log.

The skipper on the day, Emmanuel Gyamfi, gave Kotoko the lead in the first half, but goals from Prince Opoku Agyemang and Richard Boadu were enough to secure a victory for the Yellow and Mauve lads.

Speaking to Opemsuo Radio in an exclusive interview, the ex-GFA President aspirant did not hide his shock about the defeat.

Stressing that the fact that Medeama has taken four points from Kotoko does not even make it better.

“The most painful defeat since I joined Kotoko was the Saturday’s game (defeat to Medeama). Because it was a game we never expected to lose.”

“We started very well and got the early goal and was managing the game until that goal. From where I was sitting I felt it was offside. I have seen images proved to be offside.”

“We were still managing the game amidst difficulties then a deflected goal that can beat the best goalkeeper in the world. But I thought the second half we were cool.

“But in football, the whole bedrock of sports is the uncertainty of results and for us, we are down but not out.”

The Porcupine Warriors are now on the second position on the League log.

The Fabulous side will lock horns with Legon Cities in their next Ghana Premier League encounter.
