Kotoko To Shave Off Signing-on-fee

Newly-appointed Asante Kotoko Management is set to bring astronomical changes in Ghana football to relief teams from seeming hardship and one of them is to do away with signing-on-fee in our football business.

The Nana Yaw Amponsah led Management team have resolved to introduce a new contract structure for the Ghanaian giants that will not allow new recruits to collect huge amount of money before they join the fabulous side.

Signing-on Fee means a lump sum payment payable under the terms of a contract between a Club and a Contract Player and which is expressed to be a signing-on fee.
Payment of Signing-on-fee or better still inducement fee has been a portion of our football for a long while. However, many football administrators have called for changes to allow clubs to spread the money on monthly basis.

Astute football administrator and Sports lawyer, Nana Yaw Amponsah on Opemsuo 104.7 FM evening sports show, Pramaso, disclosed that a new contract structure has been introduced in the club which will let go anything like inducement fee.
” My administration has introduced new contract structure at Kotoko that allows the club not to pay signing-on-fee. The previous contract was really not helping the club and that has necessitated for changes.”
“Our new recruits will not receive any inducement fee but what they deserve will be spread throughout the year as monthly salary.”

He reckoned that the old contract structure was not beneficial to the club and does not allow the players to even give out their best after taking home that huge amount.
“You won’t believe it the kind of debt that emanates from this signing-on-fee system every season.”

“Another demerit of the payment of inducement fee is that, it does not cushion the players to give out their best because once they take those huge monies and are sacked they will still go to different club for the same signing on fee which is simply not helpful,” he concluded.
