EARLY MARRIAGE IS GOOD IF ONLY YOU FIND THE RIGHT PARTNER-PREZ. KUFOUR ADMONISHES THE YOUTH
In this era, marriage is now a huge burden for young men and women not to think about early marriage. So it was a surprise to listeners of Opemsuo 104.7 FM when former President Bosompra John Agyekum Kufour revealed that he got married to the former First-lady, Mrs. Theresa Kufour at a tender of 23.
When asked whether he would advise the young ones into early marriage he said, “when you are in your youthful age and you think you are ready to settle down, you must be bold enough and settle down with the right partner. You can’t rush into marriage when you know very well that you ain’t prepared. This doesn’t bring progress into your life. You settle down only when you are convinced enough that you are indeed ready,” he stressed.
When George Opoku Mensah Aguddey, host of Opemsuo 104.7 FM Morning Show, Nkwantananso, quizzed the ex President as to what he saw in Maa Thess, as she is affectionately called, and where and how he met the former First-lady, he recounted that they got connected through a brother when they were both studying in the United Kingdom. He was in Oxford University studying Law and Maa Thess was in Edinburg University studying Nursing. It was at a Ghana Republic Day Banquet that a friend who was more than a brother connected them. I went to the banquet with my white lady friend. Immediately I saw my wife who was in the company of another friend, I Iquickly swapped my white lady with him to dance with her and I grabbed Theresa and we also took to the dancing floor. Immediately the connection and chemistry started from there. We dated for one year before deciding to settle down.
President John Agyekum Kufour who will be 82 years on December 8 was the second President of the Republic of Ghana in the 4th Republic from 2000 to 2008 serving two terms in office.
