56 NPP Executives and Members in Tatale Sanguli Suspended

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the indefinite suspension of 56 party executives, former executives and members.

In a letter to the National Chairman of the NPP, the Constituency Chairman said, “We have decided to suspend certain members of our party for working against the party’s interests” prior to and during the 2024 General elections.

Among their offences, it said was working for an independent candidate; working for an opposition party candidate; and spreading falsehood against the NPP’s candidate.

It said careful consideration of evidence submitted against the said individual proved they had “violated the principles and values of our party”.

The affected individuals have been banned from engaging in all party activities and memberships until “further notice”, the letter further said.

“We understand the importance of unity and solidarity within our party, and it is essential that all members who worked against our common goals, any actions that undermine the party’s mission will not be tolerated.”

It added, “We hope that this decision will serve as a reminder to all members of the importance of upholding the values and principles of our party. We are committed to building a strong and effective political organization that represents the interests of our constituents.”
