Everton Sack Coach Sean Dyche After 5-Winless Games
Everton Football Club say they have relieved Sean Dyche of his duty.
He leaves alongside his assistants: Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer, it announced in a statement on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
It comes as the Toffees fight for survival in the Premier League, teetering two places and just one point above the relegation zone.
“Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect.”
The club said the process to appoint a new manager is underway. Meanwhile, Under-18s Head Coach Leighton Baines and Club Captain Seamus Coleman have been designated the responsibility of the first team on an interim basis.
Everton have gone five games without a single win.
On 30 January 2023, Dyche was appointed manager of Premier League club Everton on a two-and-a-half-year contract, replacing Frank Lampard.
