Meet Opemsuo Radio’s Exceptional Workers of the Year

Standing tall among the tens of zealous staff members of Opemsuo Radio, a subsidiary of the Ashanti Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)- the media organization of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene- were Joe Abeka and Blo-Jess Fredua Agyemang at the end of 2024.

The two videographers working under the Brands and Events Department were spot-lighted for the year’s Best Workers awards having dedicated their services to the organization both day and night.

Their dedication was tested during the year-long anniversary of Asante Kingdom this year, giving followers and viewers alike comprehensive and quality online coverage of all events that were held by the Manhyia Palace.


Other news coverages with the news department also bear testimony of their inarguable commitment to work and the development of the media organization.

The two were honoured at the last general meeting of the organization on December 24, 2024, with citations.

The citation recognized their dedication, creativity, and hard work as “exceptional”.

It read, “Your exceptional dedication, creativity, and hard work have truly made a difference. Your commitment to excellence and your passion for broadcasting have inspired us all.

“Thank you for setting such a high standard and for being an integral part of our team. This award is a testament to your outstanding contributions and achievements. Well done.”


The citations signed by Mr Emmanuel Osei Sarfo, the C.E.O of Ashanti Broadcasting Corporation and Mr Kwabena Bosie-Amponsa, the General Manager of Opemsuo Radio will be proudly displayed at the general office of Opemsuo Radio for the next one year.

Meanwhile, the Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr Richard Osei Bonsu known as Oheneba Owusu Korkor described them as heroes.

Joining the ABC Family
The illustrious Joe Abeka officially joined the ABC family earlier this year after his satisfying output during his National Service with the organization.

He completed his tertiary education at the Otec School of Journalism.

As a recent graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Blo-Jess earned a spot with the distinguished media organization to undertake his National Service having successfully gratified management while undertaking his internship in the preceding year.
