Transition Teams Constituted For Mahama’s Takeover
Both the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and the incoming National Democratic Congress (NDC) government have put out lists of members of Transition Teams to ensure the smooth transition of power on January 7, 2025.
The two sides published their separate list of members in a statement on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845).
Among the members appointed by the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama are Hon. Julius Debrah, Co-Chairperson and Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey.
Also included are Dr. Callistus Mahama, Dr. Valerie Sawyer, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Hon. Goosie Tanoh, and Dr. Edward Omane Boamah
They will work closely with representatives of the out-going government with a view to ensuring a smooth transfer of political power to the incoming administration.
On the government side of the transition team are Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the co-chair; Godfred Yeboah Dame, Ho. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, Hon. Henry Quartey, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah and Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah.
The rest are Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, Ambassador Mercy Debrah-Karikari and Mr. Edward Asomani.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has appointed the former Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, to the Advisory Council and Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin as the Chairperson of the Advisory Council.
The two sides will hold a meeting at the Jubilee House on December 11.
