Stop Associating Me with 70 Years – Akosua Agyapong
Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician and television personality, Akosua Agyapong, has responded to people associating her with 70 years of age due to her lengthy career in the music industry.
In a video posted on social media, she affirmed that it is misinformation as she entered the industry quite younger.
The “Odo Bema Me So” hit-maker emphasized that she was born on November 17, 1969, thereby making her 55 years in a few days.
The mother of six, deemed it imperative to respond to the rumours at this point.
“Sometimes when you hear rumours about yourself, you have to swiftly respond to it.”
“When I started music, I was 20 years old. Next year I will be 35 years in music. Add and see. I will be 55 years old on November 17, a mother of six. I am so proud of myself. People I meet often tell me ‘I was a child when I heard your music’. Now they say I am 70 years old.”
She indicated that Jazz Queen Stephanie Benson- her elder sister- is not yet 70 years old and thereby incomprehensible that people associate her with that age.
“Stephanie is my big sister she is not even 70 years old. My oldest sister, Belinda is not 70. I am the 15th born of 16 siblings. The firstborn is in the range of 90. That is the first of 16. Please I am not 70 years. I was born on 17th November 1969. I am not 70 yet. I will be 55 in November.”
