Workers Trapped as Atinka FM and TV Go Up in Flames

The building housing Atinka Media Village, Atinka TV and Radio in Accra has been gutted, trapping some workers.

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are currently at the scene, trying to douse the flames.

In a Facebook live session on Friday, October 8, 2024, the Service revealed that one person who had been trapped in the studio had already been rescued, and efforts were underway to rescue others who may have been trapped as well.

“People trapped in the studio. Officers getting ready to rescue them,” the personnel commented in the video.

Meanwhile, he confirmed that other officers are fighting the flames to bring it down, describing the situation as “volatile.”

The cause of the fire is yet to be unravelled.
