East Legon Accident: It’s Too Painful to Forgive- Nadia Buari
Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has weighed in on the East Legon road accident that claimed the lives of two pre-teens two weeks ago, judging it is “too painful” to be forgiven.
The accident was caused by the teenage son of the founder of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako earlier this month at East Legon in the Greater Accra Region.
Penning an emotional tribute to the girls, the mother of five imagined the pain the mothers of the two late friends are going through as she perceives the loss of any child is an irreplaceable loss to the entire world.
“I can’t believe this happened to these beautiful little girls. A future has been cut off in such a painful manner that is so difficult to come to terms with. May God keep their innocent souls in perfect peace…THE LOSS OF ANY CHILD ANYWHERE IS THE LOSS OF A FUTURE EVERYWHERE.”
“As a mother, I can deeply relate with the mothers of these kids and what they may be going through by now. It is too painful to remember and too painful to forgive.”
She therefore said a prayer for the bereaved families.
“At this moment all I wish to say is that, I pray for grace to be sufficient for you in this condition. I pray for strength for the both families of the kids. I pray for healing of hurts for all involved in this painful tragedy. I pray for love and empathy for the victims and sympathy for all who may need it. With a very heart I say PLEASE HAVE MY CONDOLENCES… GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!”
The father of the teenager at the centre of the tragic event apologized to the bereaved families in an emotional video last week.
However, he cancelled the little sympathy he had gained in the eyes of the public with another ranting, defending his son, against public backlash over the weekend. He emphasized that his son didn’t intentionally cause the death of the two twelve-year-olds in the accident.
Background
The son of the clergyman was driving a Jaguar SUV vehicle with registration number GN 7801-20 alongside one passenger when he rammed into a 4X4 Acura vehicle with registration number GR 2542-23 which had five occupants including the driver.
Both vehicles got torched by an electric pole at the scene. Passerby successfully rescued three occupants of the Acura as well as the two occupants of the SUV.
The remaining two unfortunately perished in the fire.
Following this, the police arrested the parents of the suspect driver, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako as well as one other and charged them with permitting an unlicensed person to drive.
They were subsequently granted bail in the sum of GH¢150,000.
Meanwhile, the suspect driver is still at a hospital receiving treatment for injuries he suffered in the accident.
