¢100k Donated towards Heal KATH By Man and Man Enterprise
Man and Man Enterprise, a dealer in cooking stoves, has donated GH¢100,000 towards the Heal KATH project.
The donation was presented during the Awukudae Festival held at the Manhyia Palace on October 9, 2024.
The company initially planned to donate GH¢50,000 to support the project aimed at giving a facelift to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and GH¢50,000 in support of Otumfuo 25th Anniversary.
However, Otumfuo directed that the amount for his anniversary be added to the donation to KATH which is in dire need of funds to accelerate the project’s completion.
Meanwhile, one Opoku Frimpong popularly known as Otaferegya alongside his friends based in New Jersey also donated $7,000 towards the project.
Otumfuo Hiahene Oheneba Boachie Woahene thanked them for their selfless gestures.
Awukudae
The Seventh Awukudae festival hosted at the Palace drew people from across the country to Kumasi, the country’s second capital.
Joining the festival to pay homage were royals, traditional authorities, the Second Lady, H.E. Samira Bawumia, the leadership of Ghana Health Service (GHS), Management of Man and Man Enterprise, Management of Asanteman Senior High School and Old Achimotan Association.
Also present were Mfantsipim Old Boys Association, Anglican Mampong Diocese and Anglican Diocese of Nkoranza.
Anniversaries
Management of Asanteman Senior High School and Old Achimotan Association, Mfantsipim Old Boys Association and Anglican Mampong Diocese used the occasion to extend invitations to His Majesty for their Anniversary.
The Anglican Diocese in Mampong humbly served notice about their 10th Anniversary celebration slated for November 24 while Asanteman announced to the King their 70th Anniversary on October 26.
The Old Achimotan Association alongside the notice about their 100th Anniversary in 2026 presented a citation in honour of the King.
Mfantsipim Old Boys Association on the other hand extended an invite for their 150th Anniversary in 2027.
