Napo’s Video Promising Excavators Doctored- Spokesperson
Fiifi Boafo, the spokesperson of the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has discredited a viral video of his boss promising to return all seized excavators as a campaign promise to the people of Bogoso in the Western Region.
The video of former Energy Minister popularly known as Napo engaging the chiefs and people of Bogoso in Pretea Huni Valley Constituency over the weekend promised, “We will give everyone his excavator to work in his concession to make money to support the economic growth of the communities.”
But according to Fiifi, the clip is “doctored” and “false”.
“The 20-minute full video footage of his submission did not contain what has been attributed to him. A doctored TikTok video in circulation claiming to be the source of the reportage does not reflect the statement made by the Vice Presidential Candidate.”
He further clarified that conversation with the people centred on granting access to people interested in small-scale mining in a responsible and sustainable manner.
He also stated that Dr Bawumia’s future administration will facilitate environmentally friendly small-scale mining under strict regulations.
