Nigeria Appoint 37th Head Coach for Super Eagles
Nigeria have appointed Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of their men’s senior national team after Finidi George resigned from the position two months into the job.
The German becomes the 37th head coach of the Super Eagles.
The 58-year-old was approved by the NFF Executive Committee after they reviewed the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
“The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that it has reached an agreement with German tactician, Bruno Labbadia, to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles,” the Federation said in a press statement on Tuesday.
“The appointment is with immediate effect,” it added.
Bruno on his first assignment will lead the Nigerians against Benin and then Rwanda in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Prior to his new job, he coached German clubs including VfB Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Hertha Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg.
