God Forbid; Miss Trudy on Divorce Predictions
Miss Trudy, the wife of popular Ghanaian YouTuber Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, popularly known as Wode Maya has protested against advice and predictions of divorce.
The Kenyan has no intention of parting ways with her partner despite confessing their relationship is undergoing turbulent times.
The couple have been in the spotlight on social media this week following speculations originating from some disclosures she made during an interview with a Ghanaian content creator.
Inferences suggest that Miss Trudy is being subjected to maltreatment by her Ghanaian husband, attracting a series of attacks on him from Kenyans.
Trudy rose to the defence of her husband in a video posted on her YouTube page, admitting their two-year-old marriage is going through a torrid season.
“We are both dealing with a lot so we are trying to handle it the best way that we know how. I don’t feel like it’s fair to attack him.”
“We are not perfect and our marriage is not perfect but we are going to work it out together. It’s not like we’ve been married before. We are learning as we go and we are going to do better…there are things I have to work on and there are things Maya needs to work on and we are going to do that together. We are going to be patient with each other.”
She however allayed fears over any imminent or planned divorce.
“God forbid. I got married and I know I want to be in the marriage until the end. I want to grow old with Maya…I want to mark our 50th anniversary.”
Interview
Miss Trudy in her interview with the content creator disclosed Maya decided and informed her of his decision to no longer travel the world with her for his ventures- a decision she said broke her heart.
“He (the interviewer) asked if I and Wode Maya spend enough time together and I said No. I said No because it’s the truth. He is always travelling and in also travelling like right now I’m not with him. Initially, we used to travel together all the time. For two years and then one day Maya sat me down and he told me he can’t be travelling with me everywhere. I was shattered. It felt like my heart was broken. I cried. I cried. I was like why. I thought it was me and you against the world and for life.”
She also admitted being depressed by the marriage in the interview.
“Another question he asked was how I was doing and I said not very well. I was depressed and it is life guys. We all get depressed…and I was just being honest because one thing people do is just fake that they have a perfect life and everything is amazing. I was just trying to be honest. My life is not perfect. I have some ups and some downs. Things haven’t been easy for me and one of them is moving over to a new country.
“I was born and raised in Nairobi. I am a city girl then I moved to Ghana. It’s a totally different country. It’s gonna take some time to adjust. It comes with its own challenges…I don’t have friends, the food is different, the weather is different and the culture.”
According to her she was just being honest and doesn’t want her honesty to be preyed on as a reason to crucify her husband.
