The Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency and Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, is heading straight into business after being sworn into office as the new Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Board Chairman.
The brief ceremony on July 17, 2024, was led by the outgoing Minister for Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, who is now the Vice Presidential Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The lawmaker was sworn in alongside his colleague, the MP for Tolon, Hon. Habib Iddrissu, as a new Member of the Board of Directors.
In a Facebook post the Minister said, “I swore into office today, newly appointed Board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, MP for Effutu and Majority Leader, together with newly appointed Board Member, Hon. Habib Iddrissu, MP for Tolon and Deputy Majority Chief Whip.”
