Kotoko Administrative Manager Lands New Job at CAF

The Administrative Manager of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi has been assigned a role at the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Though it is not yet confirmed the exact role, reports indicated that he has been appointed the Professional Football Manager, a new portfolio created by the continental football governing body.

The Manager who took up the role at the Club of the Century in 2020 confirmed his departure on Monday.

In a statement released on his Facebook wall, Dasoberi who was maintained as part of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Porcupines amid a leadership shakeup, said he had a new challenge to pursue in his football management career.

According to him, the opportunity to serve His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life Patron of the club and the King of the Asante Kingdom, through the club was a “rare privilege”.

“Getting the opportunity to work at Asante Kotoko was a rare privilege, not only work at one of the biggest football clubs on the African continent, but it was also a privilege to serve His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II – something I will forever cherish. My utmost gratitude goes to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for giving me the opportunity to work in his club, getting the support of Manhyia throughout my time, and also getting his blessings to pursue a new challenge on the African continent. Indeed I could not have left without the blessings of His Majesty, and I will forever be grateful.”

To him, Kotoko trained him well and have prepared him for the next challenge.

With his support, the club won the 2021/2022 season and though he is not impressed with the form of the club in his last season with them, he is glad they finished on a good note.

Dasoberi is due to begin his new role with CAF in July.
