World Cup Qualifiers: CAR Game will be Difficult- Otto Ado

The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo is anticipating a tougher clash between Ghana and the Central Africa Republic (CAR) come Monday.

Even though the game will come off at home with guaranteed cheers from home supporters, the coach thinks it will not be schematic.

Addressing the press after their third 2026 World Cup qualifier in Bamako on Thursday night, the coach said a strategy will be devised for the next clash.

He believes each game is different and thereby the need for fresh strategies to face them.

“We will see what we can do against Central Africa Republic. It’s going to be tougher because everybody expects us to win and it’s going to be difficult. These games are on the edge… We have to expect a very very strong team. They won their game by 1-0 yesterday. Every game demands different strategies.”

The Black Stars came from behind to stun Mali by 2-1 on June 6, 2024.

The opponent took the lead seconds to half time thanks to Mamadou Doumbia but a determined Coach Otto Addo’s side found an equalizer through Olympique Lyonnais’ forward Ernest Nuamah.

After minutes of desperate search for the winner by both teams, substitute Jodan Ayew did the magic with his injury-time strike, claiming all three points for Ghana.

The triumph sent Ghana to the second spot on the Group I table with six points- the same as unbeaten Comoros who lead the log.

Ghana will play against the Central Africa Republic on June 10, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and will need a convincing score to boost their hope of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
