Your Job is One of 2 Most Difficult Jobs in Ghana; Kwabena Yeboah Tells Otto Addo

Seasoned Ghanaian sports journalist and commentator, Kwabena Yeboah has psyched Otto Addo ahead of his new job, walking him through what he described as one of the most daunting tasks in the country.

The 57-year-old with over 30 years of experience in sports reporting urged the football manager to brace himself for all the criticisms that may come from the media in good fate.

He delivered his advice during an engagement between the media and the coach on May 29, 2024.

“There are two very difficult jobs in Ghana: the job of the President and the Coach of the Black Stars. You are the official coach but the real coaches are here (journalists) so the criticisms will come in. Some will be caustic and some will be vituperative but in all that just relax. Don’t take the criticisms personal but they will come in fast and thick.”

According to him, journalists mean well.

“Just understand that we are in this together and want to see the good of the team.”

Otto Addo is on a three-year contract as the Black Stars head coach.

According to him, he has gained more experience and knowledge to go about the job after his short first spell which ended in December 2022.

“I grew older, I learned a lot in the one and half years and I think I’m better than before. I would like to bring my expertise and knowledge to the game as well as that of my technical team and hopefully we will make the right decisions to win the games.”
