Kotoko’s Fredrick Asare Makes it Onto Otto Qualifier Squad

A goalkeeper of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Fredrick Asare has earned his second call-up for international duty from the head coach of the senior national team, Otto Addo.

He stands as the only domestic player to make it onto the new coach’s list and one of the three shot-stoppers for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

His performance in the Ghana Premier League is gradually winning him favour with Otto who took the Black Stars job in March.

Speaking about his decision to hand him a call, Otto said, “Frederick gave me a really good impression in the games that I saw. He was injured for some time but now he is back on track. When we were training he really really did well…He is a young player and the future belongs to him. He is a good team worker.”
