Opemsuo Health Screening: 1000 Reading Lenses Available for free Distribution

Persons diagnosed with blurred vision in the ongoing medical screening at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi organized by Opemsuo Radio in collaboration with some partners will be given free reading glasses to aid them.

There are about 1,000 lenses available for distribution to such persons, the Programme Manager, Fuseini Issah of the official mouthpiece of the Manhyia Palace announced in an interview with opemsuo.com.

“We will be giving out reading lenses for people who cannot read. You might want to read but there might be challenges,” confirmed a Counselling Psychologist at Tonylin Healthcare Consult- the partner undertaking eye, blood grouping and genotype testings in the ongoing exercise.

In collaboration with partners including the Methodist Hospital, Tonylin Healthcare Consult, Danny’s Pharmacy, Frankel Foundation and Willingway Foundation, services such as eye tests, genotype tests, blood typing, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) examinations, retro screening, sugar tests, Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure checks and malaria tests are being rendered to the public at no cost.

The free medical screening for listeners and the public is being organized as part of the 25th anniversary of the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Radio Station’s 4th anniversary.

The exercise is an advantage and opportunity for first-timers to become conversant with their blood type and group as well as give participants free access to medical advice and medication.

Mr Issah told opemsuo.com, that the exercise is aimed at giving back to the media organisation’s cherished market share.

“Opemsuo Radio is the organiser of this exercise. We (Opemsuo Radio) are celebrating our fourth anniversary as well as the King’s 25th anniversary on the Golden Stool so we deemed it necessary to provide free healthcare services to the community and our listeners. This is how we got in touch with some healthcare agencies to assist us.”
