Kevin Prince Boateng Takes On New Career
Former Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng is set to venture into a new phase and a new career in soccer.
This was announced by Spanish sports journalist Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
According to the journalist, Kevin, who retired from active football will take on the new career as team manager in Mats Hummels’ Baller League, a new German indoor soccer league.
He will take the new job in January 2024.
“Kevin Prince Boateng, ready for new chapter after retiring – as he’s expected to start in 2024 as new team manager in Mats Hummels’ Baller League.”
“His career will turn into new experience soon,” the journalist posted on social media.
After a successful club career, the former AC Milan player hanged his boot four months ago.
He also featured on the pitch in Genoa, Sassuolo and Fiorentina jerseys.
His last stint at Hertha Berlin saw him appearing 520 times, scoring 76 goals, providing 56 assists and claiming trophies.
The Baller League is an indoor league played on short fields and will feature games played at one location over several weeks during the Bundesliga’s winter break.
According to OMR website, the Baller League will “bring together Germany’s biggest and widest-reaching celebrities from sports, entertainment and streaming to compete in a soccer league”.
It will not involve the celebrities themselves on the pitch, but they will act as permanent managers of the teams, and will be assisted by coaches with the appropriate sporting expertise.
