NDC Head Office Attacked After Disqualification Of Parliamentary Aspirant

The headquarters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Accra has been attacked by alleged supporters of Michael Nii Yarboi, a parliamentary aspirant in the Odododiodio Constituency.

The tugs, alleged to have been infuriated by Mr Yarboi’s disqualification by the leadership of the party, stormed the office on Wednesday to wreak havoc on some properties.

A video intercepted by opemsuo.com revealed broken windows of the storey.

Currently, security personnel are manning the entrance to foil further attacks on the venue which has been besieged by some supporters clad in red and with red bands.

The situation has affected motorists as users of the Adabaraka-Circle route have been redirected to use alternative routes, reports CNR.

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC on Tuesday disqualified Michael Nii Yarboi, one of the three aspirants from the contest per Article 41 (8) (b) of the constitution of the NDC.

He had been earlier accused of being ineligible- an accusation which sparked violence at the regional office of the Party in South La during vetting on October 13.
