New Sebedee Chief Formally Introduced to Otumfuo
Nana Kofi Appiah Ababio, the newly enstooled Chief of Nyinasinase Sebedee, was formally introduced to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, by the Chief of Nyinasinase, Nana Gyamanin Awere II.
This introduction took place on October 28, 2023, and was attended by members of the royal family including the Sebedee Abusuapanin, Nana Kofi Amponsah and esteemed elders.
Speaking to Opemsuo News following his introduction, Nana Ababio noted that, “Sebedee is an ancient community that plays a critical role in the traditional dispensation of Asanteman.”
“When an Asantehene passes on, soil is taken from Sebedee to be molded into ‘ABUSUA KRUWA for the deceased King.”
Nana Kofi Appiah Ababio expressed his gratitude to Asantehene and Nyinasinasehene for reposing their trust in him and enstooling him as the Chief of Sebedee.
The Atwima Nyinasinasehene, Nana Gyamanin Awere II also said that, after close to two decades, it was important that he nominated a royal to oversee Sebedee.
The Sebedee Abusuapanin, Nana Kofi Amponsah, emphasized that the entire royal family and the people unanimously endorse the nomination and will overwhelmingly offer their full support to Nana Kofi Appiah Ababio.
Sebedee is nestled within the Nyinasinase Traditional Area in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality in the Ashanti Region
