ECG Announces Another Revenue Mobilisation Round

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will next week begin another round of its revenue mobilisation drive dubbed “Operation Zero” to recover outstanding debts from its customers.

From September 11 to October 11, the Company’s staff will be deployed to the premises of customers to demand payment of bills.

The opportunity will also be used to capture customers who are not in the Company’s database and bill them instantly.

It notes that during this period, customers enjoying electricity without paying for it will be granted a moratorium to allow them to visit their respective ECG offices for immediate regularization of their supply.

“ECG wishes to state to state that the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s LI (2413) give us full access to all installations, therefore, customers and the general public are being advised to cooperate with the ECG to carry out our mandate,” a notice from the Club said.

According to the company, the operation will take place with the help of the security agencies.

The move is to help arrest and prosecute persons who may try to interfere or hamper the operation.

The exercise was first introduced in March 2023.
