Ghanaian football legend Michael Essien has sent out luck following the completion of Ernest Nuamah’s move to Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais.
Known as Lyon, the French Club announced the transfer of the Ghanaian forward from Danish Club FC Nordsjaelland.
In a tweet, retired Ghanaian player Essien who was also Nuamah’s assistant coach at FC Nordsjaelland sent a heartfelt message to the teenager.
“Finally he is from Lyon, Come on @OL Come on @Nana_Nuamah10 Good luck my little one.”
Lyon yesterday said they are delighted at the signing after a race with numerous Clubs for the 19-year-old.
“Olympique Lyonnais are delighted with the signing of Ernest Nuamah, considered one of the future great hopes in his position…”
Nuamah is now the fourth Ghanaian footballer in the history of the club after Michaël Essien, Abedi Pele and John Mensah.
He joined FC Nordsjaelland in January 2022 scoring 12 goals in 30 appearances- the season’s top scorer. He is also on record as having assisted four times.
His first goal was recorded when he made his debut for the Club.
Lyon say Nuamah has so far demonstrated his uniqueness playing in all offensive positions since his arrival.
The Club has also recognized his determination which it says will help them achieve their objectives this season.
