Injury Rules Nkunku Out Of Chelsea Squad In Extended Period
Chelsea have announced their new signee, Christopher Nkunku will be absent from the squad for an extended period due to an injury.
The France national sustained a knee injury last week during a pre-season friendly in Chicago against Borussia Dortmund.
In a statement on Tuesday, Chelsea said the 25-year-old has undergone an operation and is undergoing a rehabilitation programme at its medical facility.
“Nkunku has sustained a knee injury which will rule the forward out for an extended period,” it updated.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig on July 1 on a six-year contract.
He is said to have scored three times during the Club’s tour of America but sustained an injury minutes into the game against Dortmund on Thursday morning which forced him off the pitch.
