Bawumia Campaign Team Denies ACF Is Its Funding Source
A press statement from the quarters the vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has denied communications linking his campaign funding source to some Islamic group in Nigeria called the ACF.
The economist is among ten candidates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspiring to lead it into the 2024 General election, however, he is being smeared with these allegations that could harm his objective.
The news originates from one Nigerian journalist called David Humdeyin.
It has, however, been discredited by the campaign team of Dr Bawumia as false, fabricated and propaganda.
“The attention of the Bawumia Campaign Team has been drawn to a post by one David Humdeyin, a journalist in Nigeria, that the Bawumia Campaign is being funded by some Islamic group in Nigeria called the ACF.
“We notice that the same narrative has been copied by some persons and groups in Ghana on social media…This narrative is obviously false, fabricated, and only serves the propaganda purposes of its promoters.”
It established that the Bawumia’s Campaign funding has no link to any Islamic group either in Nigeria or elsewhere.
It emphasized that “The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been very diligent and transparent from his days as a scholar, banker, and politician throughout his life and will not depart from these now and forever.”
