Coach Zerbo To Haul Kotoko Before FIFA
Former head coach of the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, Seydou Zerbo has disclosed his decision to haul the Club before the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
His decision, he said, was due to the Club’s reluctance at settling the agreed remuneration owed him.
As part of his contract, he explained, he was entitled to a three-month salary payment after a termination.
This entitlement is what appears he is demanding.
“We had an agreement that I would receive three months’ salary after the termination of my contract. However, I have yet to receive the payment,” he is quoted as saying during an interview with Fox FM.
As such, he said he has begun processes to drag the Club to the world football governing body.
“I have initiated the process of taking Kotoko to FIFA in order to secure payment for my three months’ salaries. Following our defeat against Medeama in Kumasi, CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah approached me and informed me of the decision to terminate my contract. It was undoubtedly a difficult moment for me, but I had to accept it and move forward,” he is cited.
The 59-year-old Burkinabe was signed in August 2022 to replace Prosper Narteh Ogum on a one-year contract but had his contract terminated in March 2023.
At the time, the Club said the contract termination was on mutual grounds.
Out of the 23 games he superintended, Zerbo won 10, lost 7 and drew 6.
