Miss KsTU: Representing Beauty, Character, and Intelligence
The highly anticipated Miss KsTU pageant is scheduled to take place on June 23, 2023, at the Great Hall of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU). Admission to the event is GHC10.
In an interview on Kumasifie with Mr Black on June 17, Mr. Joseph Oppong Boateng, the organizer, explained that the objective of the beauty pageant is to highlight the beauty, character, and intelligence of the participants.
“We have provided them with debate topics, and without intelligence, no lady can excel,” he said.
Miss Sandra Eghan, the Women’s Commissioner, mentioned that her office organizes the event annually due to the students’ overwhelming support and enthusiasm.
However, in the past, crowned queens faced challenges in implementing their projects due to a lack of support. She emphasized that her office aims to put an end to that trend by ensuring queens receive the necessary support to carry out their projects.
“The pageant is held every year. This time, we aim to help them achieve the goals of their projects,” she stated.
Miss Emmanuella Antwi, the SRC General-Secretary, highlighted the significance of the pageant and explained how it boosts students’ confidence.
“The pageant is beneficial because it builds their self-confidence. We groom them, and the projects they choose to undertake enable them to learn and grow,” she remarked.
“The winner of the 2023 pageant will receive a cash prize, a refrigerator, souvenirs from sponsors, a money bouquet, and many other exciting prizes,” she added.
She also urged the general public to vote for the contestants and support them in their respective projects.
During the studio session, some of the contestants shared their motivations for participating in the pageant. The majority expressed a desire to enhance their self-confidence.
“It is a platform to showcase one’s talent,” one contestant remarked.
“It is not solely about education but also entertainment,” another contestant added.
