Police Effect Arrest Over Molestation In Viral Video In Upper East
Four persons are in the grips of the police for their alleged involvement in the “inhumane and degrading treatment” meted out to a female in a viral video.
The video reportedly showed a group of men stripping a female naked and taking pictures of her.
The police announced it had launched investigations into the incident which it condemned as an “inhumane and degrading treatment” on Monday, June 12.
In less than 24 hours the police announced the arrest of suspects Awizore Amolt, Akolbila Asorwogo, Atibila Aladago and Akolbila Ben in connection with the incident.
They were arrested in a Police intelligence operation on June 13 at Kupelga in the Upper East Region, the Ghana Police Service said in an update on the incident.
They are said to be aiding the police in the investigation for the arrest of the remaining culprits.
The service says it has contacted the victim to provide her with psycho-social support.
