Police Chase Gang Who Stripped Female In Viral Video

The police have announced efforts to arrest a gang of males who were captured in a viral video subjecting a lady to “inhumane and degrading” treatment.

In a statement on Monday, June 12, the police said it had launched an investigation into the viral video noting that the incident transpired in the Upper East region.

The video reportedly showed a group of men stripping a female naked and taking pictures of her.

“The Police have commenced investigation into a viral video believed to have originated from the Upper East Region, in which a female victim is seen being subjected to inhumane and degrading treatment by a group of people,” a part of the statement from the police said.

It further called for calm from the public as they pursue the perpetrators.

“We wish to call on the public to remain calm as efforts are underway to get the perpetrators arrested to face justice.”

Social media commentators greeted the press statement with applause for the Service for its swift response.

“A step in the right direction, Well done,” one said and another added, “Dampare is working very hard to make sure the bad names tagged on the police service is been erased. God richly blessed him.”

“God bless Dampare for making the police active on social media,” said one other as another commented, “Do well to arrest all those who did that and bring them to book.”
