Ashanti Regional Fire Commander Urges Collaborative Efforts for Safety Measures
The Ashanti Regional Commander of Ghana Fire Devices, ACFO 1 Henry Giwah, has stressed the significance of collective efforts in ensuring safety measures, stating that no nation can develop efficiently without prioritizing safety. He called upon all stakeholders to actively contribute towards this goal, emphasizing that the government alone cannot bear the entire responsibility.
During a ceremony held at Atwima-Takyiman in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region, ACFO 1 Henry Giwah commended the initiative of Atwimahene, Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong II, for his efforts in enhancing fire prevention measures.
Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong II presented fire equipment and thunder devices to the Atwima-Takyiman Fire Station, aiming to bolster their capabilities in mitigating fire incidents and other potential disasters.
Expressing his gratitude, Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong II acknowledged the support and guidance received from His Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II, the Asante Hene.
He also recognized the partnership with the Munar state of Germany, which provided valuable assistance in realizing this endeavour. Nana Antwi urged all stakeholders to prioritize the proper maintenance of the equipment, ensuring its long-term sustainability and effectiveness in safeguarding lives and properties.
Hon Prince Kakari, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly, praised Nana Atwimahene for his historic gesture, acknowledging the positive impact it would have on the local community.
He shared that the assembly is actively working towards constructing a new fire station for the district, as the current station premises are owned by the Dwahyen royal families.
