Ghana Maintains 7th Position In Peacekeeping Despite Drop In Personnel
Ghana continues to be among the top ten nations with the highest contribution of peacekeeping personnel to the United Nations (UN).
It is the country’s second time in that position despite dropping in the number of personnel contributed.
In 2022, Ghana contributed 2,767 personnel including Experts on Mission, Formed Police Units, Individual Police, Staff Officers and Troops.
In 2023, it fell by 5.
The first ten rankings include Bangladesh, Nepal, Rwanda, Pakistan, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Senegal and China.
Bangladesh has been leading the rankings for three years now.
Ukraine justifiably ranked last.
According to the UN, these personnel are “from nations large and small, rich and poor. They bring different cultures and experience to the job, but they are united in their determination to foster peace.”
