Ernest Yaw Anim Leads NPP Into Kumawu By-election

Candidate Ernest Yaw Anim will contest on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kumawu by-election later next month.

This comes after he emerged winner in the party’s Parliamentary primary in the Kumawu constituency in the Ashanti Region on Sunday.

He garnered 195 votes to against four other candidates in the primary.

Ama Serwa, a close contender obtained 181 votes, Dr Appiah Kubi polled 10, Dr. Aboagye Da Costa had 27 and Osei Bempah had five votes.

One ballot was rejected.

The primary took place on April 23.

A by-election will be conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana on May 23 to fill the vacant seat in Parliament left by Hon Philip Basoah.
