Speaker Recalls Parliament From Break
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has recalled Parliament from recess.
The House will reconvene on Tuesday, May 2 at 10 am.
The emergency recall is to enable the House to consider “urgent parliamentary business”.
This was contained in a statement posted on the official Facebook page of Parliament.
Parliament went into recess on March 31 for the Easter break and was expected to reconvene on May 23, Opemsuo radio’s Parliamentary correspondent, Kwaku Boffa reports.
The Speaker’s recall is in accordance with Order 42(3) of the Standing Orders of Parliament.
