Chinese Galamsey Queen Bounces Back, Re-arrested
An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a Chinese national, Huang Ruixia alias Aisha Huang for engaging in mining without a licence and also engaging in the sale and purchase of minerals without a valid licence.
Judge Samuel Bright Acquah remanded Aisha Huang into police custody after the Prosecutor handling the case told the court that Aisha Huang was arrested after she sneaked into the country with a new identity in the early part of this.
Briefing the court, Detective Chief Inspector Fredrick Sarpong said the complainants are the Security and Intelligence officers in Accra.
According to the prosecution, Aisha Huang ventured into the purchase and sale of minerals without a valid licence- in breach of the minerals Act- and the sale of equipment used in illegal mining activities.
