BoG To Hold An Emergency Meeting Over “Developments In Economy”
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Ghana will hold an emergency meeting this week.
This was relayed in a statement by the BoG.
The Bank noted that the emergency meeting is in view of the recent economic developments.
The meeting will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
The Bank said the meeting will conclude with an announcement.
This is ahead of the 108th MPC meeting slated for September 20, 2022.
The announcement comes after Standard and Poor’s downgraded Ghana’s foreign and local currency credit from B-/B to CCC+/C and Fitch downgraded Ghana’s Long-Term Foreign-Currency (LTFC) Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to ‘CCC’ from ‘B-‘.
