Our Road Is In A Deplorable State: Drivers In Denase Complains
Drivers at Denase in the Afigya Kwabre North District in the Ashanti Region have lamented over the bad state of their roads.
The road construction project, according to the drivers, began in 2020 when Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s vice president, pledged to assist in fixing the road prior to the 2020 general elections.
“Contractors started with the road construction projects after the vice president’s promises but they left after the initial stage of the project. The Road minister Hon. Kwasi Amoako Attah came here about two months and gave us his word pertaining to the road issues but we haven’t heard from him”.
The drivers said the state of the road makes driving at Denase very difficult especially when it rains.
“We visit the mechanic frequently due to the terrible condition of the road”.
“Our Member of Parliament, Hon. Collins Adomako Mensah and District Chief Executive Officer Hon. Kwasi Karikari Akyamfuo are aware but nothing has been done, they said. We need help”, they pleaded.
