74 Ghanaians In Sudan Will Land In Ghana Tomorrow- Foreign Affairs Ministry
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced that 74 Ghanaian nationals are scheduled for evacuation into Ghana on Tuesday.
They are among 76 Ghanaians who successfully crossed to Ethiopia with the assistance of Ghanaian officials in the country.
“Arrangements are in place to fly seventy-four (74) of them to Accra on Tuesday, 2nd May 2023,” a statement from the Ministry stated.
The reason behind the evacuation of 74 instead of all the 76 nationals was, however, not stated.
Meanwhile, one Ghanaian footballer and two Ghanaian engineers have been moved from Sudan to Egypt with the assistance of Ghanaian officials at the Embassy in Egypt.
In the statement, Ministry assured the public of its commitment to evacuate all Ghanaians back home.
In that regard, it has put out the contact details of Ghanaian officials in Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan to assist in their evacuation.
Conflict erupted on March 15 between Sudan’s de facto Armed Forces and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over the roadmap for transition from military rule to civilian rule.
