#4thAugustDemo: “Demands are Spurious”-Mac Manu
The New Patriotic Party’s Campaign Manager for the 2020 election, Peter Mac-Manu, has described the demands of the campaigners as spurious.
Speaking on the sidelines of the commemoration of the NPP’s 29th anniversary, Mac Manu said he was elated that the NPP-led government did not interfere in the #4thAugustDemo.
“I am happy that the NPP government under the able leadership of Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo did not interfere in the demonstration in any way”, he said.
According to him the demands of the group do not reflect the needs of Ghanaians.
He also said the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led administration have won the confidence of Ghanaians to break the mystic eight year term.
“The good people of Ghana, the citizenry will judge between the demands and what is happening. And I believe that they were making spurious demands because where we took the country from and where we have brought it and where we intend to take it to, the Ghanaian people will appreciate and continue to appreciate it and break the eight.”
The #Fixthecountry campaigners hit the streets of Accra to protest against “bad governance” on Wednesday, 4th August, 2021.
The group, after the event, expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of their protest.
