48 Nigerian Cyber Criminals Busted at Dawhenya

Forty-eight members of a cybercrime syndicate have been uncovered at Dawhenya in the Greater Accra Region.
They were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, December 24, 2025, through the collaboration of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), the National Security and the Ghana Police Service.
The operation was conducted between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 across four locations within the Dawhenya enclave.
Following a screening exercise, 46 were identified as males, while two were females, and are believed to be Nigerian nationals.
They are linked to a range of cyber-related criminal activities, including romance scams, online investment fraud, impersonation schemes, and illicit online gold trading.
Items retrieved during the operation included 54 laptops, 39 mobile phones, one Starlink internet device, and eight MTN TurboNet routers.
The latest arrests follow a series of similar joint operations aimed at dismantling organised cybercrime networks operating within the country.
“One suspected ringleader, identified as Autin Osas, popularly known as Austin, remains at large as Investigations continue.”
