48.1% of Voters Prefer Bawumia as NPP’s 2028 Presidential Candidate- Survey

A survey by Global InfoAnalytics shows that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia remains popular among voters for the opposition New Patriotic Party’s 2028 Presidential bid.

The party after woefully losing the 2024 Election will be hoping to present a formidable front in the next four years to win power.

A survey conducted by the pollster suggests that the 2024 candidate remains the masses’ favourite despite his loss.

The new poll shows voters’ preference for NPP leadership with 48.1% backing Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He is followed by former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong with a score of 25% and former Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum with 12.5%.

Other candidates who showed interest in the forerunner position in 2024 like Kwabena Agyepong scored 7.2% and Francis Addai Nimo scored 3.0%.

Additionally, the poll showed that of the six candidates, former Agriculture Minister, Brian Acheampong was the fifth favourite with a score of 4.1%.

Data from the Electoral Commission shows that National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate John Dramani Mahama secured victory in the 2024 Presidential polls with 6,591,790 votes, representing 56.42% of the total votes cast.

He defeated his closest contender, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who received 4,877,611 votes representing 41.75 per cent.

Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, the leader of the New Force Party, emerged as the leading candidate among the smaller parties, garnering 88,944 votes, or 0.76% of the total.
