433 Pilgrims Off From Tamale Airport To Saudi Arabia
The first flight carrying some 433 pilgrims from the Tamale Airport to Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is scheduled to take off for the 2022 Hajj.
Addressing the passengers before take-off, the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Saani Alhassan Shaibu, urged the pilgrims to abide by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and consider themselves as Ambassadors of Ghana.
He said the country has an enviable record of respect in the Kingdom and therefore nothing should be done to mar that Reputation.
The Regional Minister also appealed to the pilgrims to pray for the nation to overcome its challenges and continue to enjoy the continued peace and development.
A representative of the Hajj Board, Alhaji Farouk Hamza revealed that four flights are expected to take off from Tamale between Monday and Wednesday, adding that one thousand seven hundred and thirty-two (1,732) passengers are to be airlifted from the region to Mecca.
