33 Black Queens Convene for Japan Friendly
Thirty-three Black Queens have started arriving in Accra ahead of preparations for a friendly game against Japan in Tokyo next week.
The players invited by head coach Nora Häuptle opened camp on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
They are Grace Acheampong, Grace Asantewaa, Princess Marfo, Wasila Diwura, Linda Eshun, Nina Norshie, Philomena Abakah, Anasthasia Achiaa, Princella Adubea, Adama Alhassan, Susan Ama Duah, Victoria A Agyei, Gifty Assifuah, Freda Ayisi, Evelyn Badu and Doris Boaduwaa.
Also included are Portia Boakye, Azuma Bugre, Cynthia K Fiindib, Jacqueline Owusu, Sherifatu Sumaila, Comfort Yeboah, Alice Kusi, Stella Nyamekye, Mukarama Abdulai, Vivian A Konadu, Bridget Adu, Mary Amponsah, Kerry Mccarthy, Victoria Osei, Mavis Owusu, Safiatu Salifu and Fridaus Yakubu.
Japan, will host Ghana in the friendly slated for July 13, 2024. The game will be held at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium in Tokyo.
Both teams will use the friendly to prepare for their upcoming tournaments. Japan will use the game to warm up for the Olympic Games in Paris while the Black Queens are preparing for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The WAFCON will be hosted in Morocco next year.
