30-year-old Man Nabbed for Threatening to Kill Uber Driver with Toy Gun

A 30-year-old digital marketer has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he threatened to kill an Uber driver with a toy gun during a misunderstanding over the payable transport fee.

His arrest was effected by the Weija Divisional Command on March 2, 2026, at Apraku in Accra.

At a press conference on March 5, 2026, the police reported that the suspect, identified as Jeffery Selasie Johnson Eze, hired the services of the Uber driver from Weija China Mall to his residence at Aplaku.

“During the journey, the suspect requested that the driver stop for him to buy food. The delay led to misunderstanding between the two over the increase in the transport fare.

“On reaching the suspect’s residence, he allegedly refused to pay the transport fare after alighting from the vehicle and entering his residence. He returned with a replica toy pistol, which he used to threaten the driver.”

The driver immediately reported the incident, leading to the arrest of the suspect by a patrol team.

A search conducted in his room led to the retrieval of the toy gun.
