3 Teacher Unions Predict Strike
Three teacher unions have penned down nine challenges in the education sector they wish their “employer” address immediately.
The three groups include; The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT).
Among the concerns raised by the groups are: lack of teaching and learning resources, overworking of teachers, failure of government to pay salaries due upgraded teachers, failure of government to honour allowances and benefits due teachers.
According to a joint statement signed by the three, if all the issues are not addressed in full by the end of September, an action in the best interest of their members will be taken.
“We will have no option than to advise ourselves in the best interest of our members within the framework of our Collective Agreement and the applicable Laws of Ghana”, the statement said.
