Don’t Pay Money- GES Warns Teachers as Fraudsters Cash in on Promotion Exams

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has warned teachers sitting for the ongoing promotion examination not to pay money to fraudsters promising them automatic promotion, insisting the process is strictly merit-based.
In a press statement issued on November 3, 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, Management said it had uncovered activities of unscrupulous individuals who are demanding money from candidates under the pretext of securing them promotion.
GES stressed that no payment or financial inducement is required or can guarantee promotion.
“Management wishes to state categorically that no payment or financial inducement is required or will guarantee promotion. The process is transparent and purely merit-based. Therefore, candidates should not pay monies to anyone,” the statement said.
While wishing all eligible staff participating in the examination the best of luck, Management encouraged them to approach the exercise with confidence, dedication and a positive attitude.
The Service urged any staff member who encounters such solicitations or has information about the perpetrators to report immediately to the police for action.
