Ghana Open To Partnerships To Strengthen Foundational Learning – Deputy Education Minister

Deputy Minister for Education, Dr Clement Abas Apaak, has advertised Ghana’s readiness to partner with international organisations and development partners to strengthen foundational learning and improve education outcomes.

In an engagement with development partners on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81), he commended organisations already supporting education in Ghana.

He further encouraged more partners to bring innovative ideas, expertise and resources to the country.

“We still need your partnership,” he said, highlighting the importance of investing in foundational learning.

Dr Apaak stressed that getting education right at the foundation gives every child a better opportunity to succeed while reducing future costs for the education system.

Dr Apaak noted that government’s renewed focus includes play-based learning, which has been incorporated into the newly reviewed basic school curriculum as a way to make early learning more engaging and effective.
