Uganda Airlines To Begin Operations In Ghana in October

Uganda Airlines will commence commercial operations in Ghana effective Monday, October 27, 2026.

The development was disclosed by the Ministry of Transport as part of efforts to expand air connectivity and increase competition in Ghana’s aviation sector.

The entry of the East African carrier is expected to strengthen direct air links between Ghana and Uganda, offering passengers more travel options and boosting trade, tourism and business ties between the two countries.

The Ministry said the necessary regulatory approvals and operational arrangements are being finalised ahead of the inaugural flight.

Uganda Airlines, the national carrier of Uganda, currently operates a network across Africa, the Middle East and beyond, and its addition to the Ghana route will increase the number of international airlines operating from the Kotoka International Airport.

Further details on flight schedules, frequencies and routes are expected to be announced by the airline and the Ghana Airports Company Limited in the coming days.
